GEORGE’S® Margarita Seared Tuna Steaks
2 tuna steaks (about an 1 1/2 thick)
Marinade:
3T GEORGE’S® Margarita Mix
3T soy sauce (we used reduced sodium Tamari)
2 garlic cloves, minced
salt and pepper to taste
2 T oil
- Combine marinade ingredients in a large ziplock bag.
- Add the tuna steaks and marinate for at least 30 minutes in the fridge, turning a few times.
- Heat 1T oil in a medium skillet on medium-high heat until hot.
- Sear tuna 2 minutes each side for medium rare or for 3 minutes for medium. (*times will vary depending on your cooktop*)
- Meanwhile, pour leftover marinade in a small pot and heat until boiling . Turn down heat a little and cook until slightly thickened. It’ll only take a couple minutes. Baste tuna with thickened marinade. (This step is optional–it’s just as delicious without the baste!)
- Perfect on the grill too!!
